Presented by PNC, San Antonio Zoo’s beloved fall tradition returns September 19 through November 1 with FREE daily trick or treating, themed food, live entertainment, interactive animal experiences and the debut of the all new Fiesta de los Muertos.
Bring the entire family and experience a colorful seasonal celebration filled with wildlife, culture and Halloween fun around every corner.

The All-New Fiesta de los Muertos
New for 2026, Fiesta de los Muertos brings the color, artistry and spirit of Día de los Muertos to life inside ZOO BOO!
Step into a vibrant celebration of life, memories, animals, and imagination at San Antonio Zoo’s all-new Festival de los Muertos. Inspired by the rich traditions, colors, and artistry of Día de los Muertos, this immersive experience invites guests to journey through three uniquely themed realms filled with larger-than-life art, meaningful moments, colorful photo opportunities, and festive flavors.

Plaza de los Recuerdos
Cross the Marigold Bridge and enter a beautiful realm inspired by remembrance and celebration. Enjoy festive Día de los Muertos décor and themed treats, then take a meaningful moment to honor a beloved animal at the Ofrenda de Animales, a special tribute celebrating the animals who have touched our lives.
Calaveras Salvajes
Take a walk on the wild side through a colorful world where wildlife meets the artistry of traditional sugar skulls. Discover striking zoo animal sculptures transformed with intricate calavera-inspired designs while reflecting on favorite animals and treasured zoo memories.
El Jardín de los Alebrijes
Let your imagination run wild as you wander through a fantastical garden filled with colorful alebrijes. Inspired by these extraordinary creatures of Mexican folk art, this whimsical realm brings animals, color, and creativity together in an unforgettable celebration of imagination.

Free Trick or Treat for Wildlife
Enjoy FREE trick or treating every day from 4 to 5 pm.
In support of San Antonio Zoo’s commitment to securing a future for wildlife, all candy distributed during trick-or-treating contains sustainably sourced palm oil, helping support rainforest ecosystems and the animals that depend on them.
Sink Your Fangs Into Seasonal Favorites
Make your visit even more delicious with limited time food and treats, including:
• Deep Fried Oreos
• Zombie Brains made with crispy cauliflower fritters and sweet Thai chili

• Congo Falls Member Pin Giveaway: Saturday, September 26
Active Members can collect a special Congo Falls pin while supplies last. An active ZooBand is required to receive the giveaway.
• Ajari Member Pin Giveaway: Saturday, October 17
Active Members can collect a special Ajari pin while supplies last. An active ZooBand is required to receive the giveaway.
• ZOO BOO! Dog Day: Sunday, October 18
Bring your pup for dog friendly trick or treating, a dog costume contest and a wild Halloween adventure together. An additional Dog Day Ticket is required for each participating dog.
• Membership Appreciation Day: Saturday, October 24
San Antonio Zoo Members are invited to enjoy a special celebration created just for them.
Members can enjoy special perks throughout the day, including Bring a Friend Free, plus a Member giveaway while supplies last. Giveaway details will be announced soon.
An active Membership is required to participate. Members must present their Membership or active ZooBand for available offers and benefits.

Celebrate Halloween with extended zoo hours until 9 pm and special activities throughout the day and evening.
