Home School Family Safari

Join other home school families for an interactive classroom program and mini zoo safari adventure! These hour-long, themed, and engaging programs support TEKS initiatives through lessons and activities, biofacts, animal ambassadors and topic-related zoo exploration.

Home School Family Safari educational experiences are geared towards learners 6-10 years and are designed to enhance learning the following:

June – Into the Jungle

Explore the realm of the Jaguar! Learners will investigate the diversity and distribution of life in the Amazon Rainforest, how species are uniquely adapted to meet their needs, and steps they can take to secure a future for the rainforest.

July – So you want to be a Zookeeper?

What does a day in the life of a zookeeper look like? Learn what it takes to care for amazing animals, prepare their meals, and help keep them healthy and happy. Get the inside scoop on what it takes to be a zoo keeper and find out how this exciting career makes an impact on wildlife conservation.

August – Savanna Explorers

Explore the smaller and often overlooked species of the African Savanna! Learners will study how animals interact with each other and their environment to find the resources they need to survive.

September – Water Water Everywhere

Discover the amazing journey of water through the water cycle and explore how animals rely on water in surprising ways. From desert dwellers to rainforest residents, water is the key to life!

October – Ocean Commontion

Dive into the incredible world beneath the waves as we explore coral reefs, mangroves, the deep sea, and more! Meet the animals that call these underwater habitats home and learn what makes our oceans so important.
