Spend a night on the wild side and discover the sights and sounds of the zoo after-dark. No matter the size of your group, San Antionio Zoo has a variety of exciting and educational Overnight Adventures that will leave your group roaring for more!

Roars & Snores

Age: 5 years and up
Time: 6:30 p.m. –8:30 a.m. the next day, January – Early November

Cost: $65 per person, 20 person minimum

$100 non-refundable deposit collected at registration, final payment due 2 weeks ahead of program.

Sleeping Venue: Education Center

Upgrade to Africa Live! Hippo Viewing: $15 per person

Join zoo experts for an overnight experience you’ll never forget! Before you roll out your sleeping bag for some climate-controlled camping, enjoy animal presentations, zoo activities, and a guided flashlight tour of the zoo after dark. In the morning, you’ll discover how the zoo prepares for the day during a short tour and then head to Beastro for a freshly prepared taco breakfast.

Choose from three engaging themes:

Nocturnal Adventures: What are the benefits of being active at night versus during the day? Discover how animals like bats, cats, and owls are adapted to exploring the night.

Grossology: Slime, poop, and pellets, explore the gross side of animal kingdom and learn why some animals benefit from being “gross”.

Animal Mysteries: Scientists can’t always see animals to make observations and learn more about them. Become an animal investigator and look for animal signs as you solve a mystery!

Pizza dinner, evening snack, and breakfast tacos are included.

Sleep with the Hippos! *Africa Live! Hippo viewing upgrade available for select dates.

Zoo Lights Overnight

Age: 5 years and up
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m., Late November – December

Cost: $65 per person, 20 person minimum

Sleeping venue: Education Center

Jingle bell rock your way on over to San Antonio Zoo’s Education Center for our Zoo Lights Overnight! Available on select Friday’s and Saturday’s. Your group will explore the magic and wonder of Zoo Lights and end your night with an animal presentation, guided tour, or evening activity! In the morning, your group will be able to hear a variety of early morning animal sounds on a short, guided tour and then enjoy a taco breakfast!

Pizza dinner, evening snack, and breakfast tacos are included.

This program does not include zoo admission.

Zoo Snooze

Age: 5 years and up
Time: 6:30 p.m. –8:30 a.m. the next day,
Cost: $950 for up to 10 participants, $95 per additional participant; maximum 20 participants

$100 non-refundable deposit collected at registration, final payment due 2 weeks ahead of program.
Sleeping Venue: Discovery PLAYce

Let your imagination take flight as you explore the sights and sounds of the rainforest…at night! Get ready to experience a one-of-a-kind evening adventure filled with animal encounters, guided flashlight tours, and engaging activities all about the amazing rainforest ecosystem. Unroll your sleeping bag for indoor camping in Discovery PLAYce, and then enjoy an exclusive morning experience at the John and Greli Less Butterfly Rainforest and the opportunity to explore the rest of San Antonio Zoo in the daylight.

As with all of our amazing overnight experiences, pizza dinner, evening snack, and breakfast tacos are included with your purchase.

Friends & Family Overnights

Roar and Snore like never before with your friends or family by your side! This overnight experience is perfect for individuals and small groups.

Friends and Families Overnights
Ages: 5 years – adult. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m. the next day
Cost: $80 per person
Sleeping Venue: Africa Live! Hippo Viewing

Get ready for fun and educational activities focused on how animals have adapted to nightlife, animal meet & greets, and a guided flashlight tour to find out what the zoo animals do after dark. Then, roll out your sleeping bag from some indoor, climate-controlled camping under the watchful eyes of the hippos.  In the morning, enjoy a delicious taco breakfast, discover how the zoo prepares for the day on a short zoo hike, and spend the rest of the day exploring the zoo on your own.

Pizza dinner, evening snack, and breakfast tacos included.

Friends & Families Overnights are open to multiple individuals and small groups that will participate in group activities and sleep in a common area. Air mattresses are encouraged.
