Go Wild at Congo Falls Night with the San Antonio Missions Baseball!
San Antonio Zoo is teaming up with the San Antonio Missions this Saturday, August 22, for Congo Falls Night for a celebration of baseball, wildlife and conservation. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium!
The Missions will take the field in special Congo Falls-themed jerseys created just for the night. After the game, those jerseys will be auctioned off, giving fans the opportunity to take home a unique piece of Missions and San Antonio Zoo history. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit San Antonio Zoo’s conservation initiatives, helping support our work to protect wildlife and wild places locally and around the world.
Before heading into the ballpark, be sure to stop by the San Antonio Zoo team onsite before the game. We’ll be collecting old mobile phones and small electronics as part of Gorillas on the Line, a global conservation campaign that encourages the recycling of electronics to help protect gorillas and their habitat. Many electronics contain minerals mined in regions where gorillas live, so recycling unused devices is one simple way we can all help make a difference.
And don’t head home after the final out! Congo Falls Night will conclude with a postgame fireworks show putting a spectacular finish on a wild night at the ballpark.
