San Antonio Zoo will officially celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of the new Brewer Ocean Conservation Lab on Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m.

 

The new state-of-the-art conservation and education space is dedicated to coral restoration, research, and ocean conservation. Made possible through a generous gift from the Brewer family in honor of the late R.P. Brewer III, the lab will support coral conservation efforts alongside NOAA and the Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) program.

 

The event will include remarks from Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo, and Robert Brewer. Members of the Brewer family will also be in attendance to celebrate the opening of the new lab and honor the legacy of R.P. Brewer III.

 

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests and media will have the opportunity to tour the new facility.
