Explore Camps
At Zoo Camp, campers will not only have the opportunity to learn about everything scaly, furry, and feathery, but they’ll find out how they can help San Antonio Zoo in securing a future for wildlife! Spending most of the day outdoors, campers will stay active and engaged with zoo tours, fun activities and games, exclusive experiences, and visiting animals. All topics, themes and grade levels will explore the whole zoo, meet animal ambassadors and join camp-exclusive adventures during each session of Zoo Camp.
All Camps
Drop-Off: 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Pick-Up: 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
After Care available until 4:30pm; additional fee

No school? No problem! Campers will spend their school breaks exploring the zoo, playing themed games, and discovering new things about their favorite animals!

Beetles, Butterflies, & Beyond
What do crabs, spiders, and butterflies have in common? Get ready to find out as we explore the fascinating world of bugs and other “spineless” critters! Whether you’re a fan of exoskeletons, or just curious to see what the buzz is about, you won’t want to miss discovering the incredible abilities, unique behaviors, and amazing interactions our chitin-clad friends have with the animals and ecosystems around them.

Conservation Superheroes
Superheroes Assemble! Break out your boots, dust off your capes, and get ready for your next mission: saving the world! It might seem like an impossible task, but don’t worry – you’ll learn the secret skills and powers needed to protect the planet. From your secret superhero headquarters you’ll traverse the zoo, learn about the meaning of conservation, and meet some amazing animals from all over the world that need your help. Are you ready to unleash your powers and become the planet’s next great protector?

Seven Seas Sea-fari
Ahoy! Grab your compass and spyglass – the world is waiting to be explored in this wild sea-fari adventure. Dive into the depths as we uncover hidden treasures and meet amazing animals along the way. Of course, once we get our sea-legs, we’ll make landfall to visit all the land mammals and the rest of the zoo as well.

Research Rangers – New for 2025!
San Antonio Zoo is recruiting the inaugural cohort of Research Rangers! Join us for a hands-on week of camp as we explore the world of fieldwork and scientific research. Work alongside San Antonio Zoo staff and real-world scientists to collect data and observe animal behaviors, all while discovering how scientific research helps shape the future of conservation efforts.

Wild Careers
Get ready for something truly wild! There’s more to animal care than just cleaning, and there’s more to working at a zoo besides taking care of the animals. Get ready to get hands-on as you spend the week working and learning alongside San Antonio Zoo’s amazing Zoo Crew. From behind-the-scenes experiences to exclusive meet-ups with Zoo Staff, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work at a zoo, this camp is for you.

Zoo Camp welcomes all stripes! Our dedicated camp counselors and Education staff are committed to providing exceptional experiences for campers of all abilities. During your Zoo Camp adventure, you can expect the following:
- Exploring San Antonio Zoo grounds, which has diverse smells, light levels, noise, and temperatures.
- Navigating through terrain that may be uneven at times.
- Spending up to 2 hours at a time outdoors, covering a distance of 1-3 miles per day.
- Engaging in group activities and enjoying the zoo-wide experiences.
- Transitioning between different surfaces, including the floor or ground.
- Using the restroom without assistance.
- Accessing public restrooms throughout the zoo.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and adhering to staff instructions.
We strive to create a comfortable and successful environment for every camper. To assist us in providing the best possible experience, please inform us of any special considerations in advance or through your camper’s registration form. This information may include allergies, accessibility concerns, behavioral, psychological, or emotional conditions, as well as any other special needs. If your child requires the presence of a full-time care provider, please reach out to us before registration at [email protected]. We welcome the support of a professional aide to support the child. We are committed to working with you to ensure that Zoo Camp is accessible for campers with varying needs. However, please note that we are unable to provide one-on-one support or supplementary services. Join us at Zoo Camp and embark on an inclusive and memorable journey filled with excitement, learning, and fun!
- Zoo Camp Safety Measures will be updated as new state/local guidelines are available for summer camp programs.
- Zoo Camp refunds are available with a minimum of ten days’ notice, minus a $10 processing fee.
