World Teachers’ Day

San Antonio Zoo is proud to support Texas Teachers for World Teachers’ Day on October 5. In celebration, the zoo will light up its parking garage in light blue and offer 50% off an Any Day Ticket for Texas Teachers when purchased at the zoo’s front gate between October 5 – 9.

As a bonus, teachers will enjoy Zoo Boo! presented by Valero Benefit for Children, a non-scary daytime Halloween event for the whole family! Developed by UNESCO in partnership with UNICEF, the International Labor Organization, and Education International, World Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually on October 5.

World Teachers’ Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide, take stock of achievements, and draw attention to the voices of teachers – who are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind.

To qualify for the discount, you must be an active teacher in any school district in the state of Texas, employed by an accredited pre-K-12 public, a private, or parochial school in the state of Texas, provide a driver’s license AND one of the following items at the ticket window:

  • Copy of Teachers Certificate
  • Photo ID/Badge from school district/school

*Teacher MUST be present in order to receive 50% off single-any day tickets. Offer is only valid at the front gate during the month of October 5-9. Not valid with any other offers, special events, or experiences. Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.
