
San Antonio Zoo hosts its women celebration, Girl Power!
Just like our lioness, Axelle, and many of our other female animals, women are powerful and strong! San Antonio Zoo is celebrating all women and girls on Saturday, November 13 with Girl Power.
Join us for a day of great food and fun music, featuring all female artists & organizations from acrobat performers to musicians.
Plus, don’t miss out on special guest celebrity meet and greet opportunities throughout the day.
We know women are strong, hear them ROAR!
Girl Power is included with zoo standard admission and FREE for Zoo Annual Pass Holders and Monthly Members.

Deja Young

Deja Young competed in the 200m & 100m events at the Rio 2016 Paralympics, and took home Gold in both events. She went on to defend her title’s at the 2017 World Championships in London and at the 2019 ParaPan Games. That same year, Deja competed at the 2019 World Championships in Dubai where she broke the World Record in the 200m event. In 2021, Deja qualified for her 2nd Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Olga E. Custodio

Holding the distinction as the first Latina to complete U.S. Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and become a pilot, Olga E. Custodio has proven that gender is never a hindrance to be successful in a profession that is dominated by men. Overcoming self-doubt, staying open to possibilities, and seeing oneself as an equal to be relevant are just some of the principles she believes in, and have driven her to be successful in her chosen career.
