Health & Safety Updates
Hello Zoo Family, Friends, and Fans,
I wanted to inform you of the postponed re-opening of San Antonio Zoo, Kiddie Park, and Will Smith Zoo School to the general public until further notice. Our top priority has been and continues to be the health and safety of our community, guests, students, and team members. We continue to follow the lead and directive of our local health and government officials as a measure to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on ticket sales, guest visits, and donations to operate. Like other organizations in the city, this temporary closure will have a significant impact on our overall operating budget. We have no income other than donations for the foreseeable future, but we remain dedicated to this community as we have for the last 106 years.
Essential team members, including animal care teams and other selected team members, will continue working at the zoo to provide vital care to our animals and safety and security at each of our facilities.
We miss seeing your faces, and we promise to do our best to share stories and photos with you throughout our closure to stay connected with our biggest fans through our social media channels.
Starbucks will continue to operate in Brackenridge park with new social distancing procedures.
- Starbucks in Brackenridge Park remains open, serving all menu items to-go.
Please consider a donation to our emergency operating fund to assist in the care of our animals and team members.
