Do I need to purchase tickets or can we buy onsite?
We recommend pre-purchasing tickets online at www.sazoo.org. You can purchase tickets on site by using a credit card or debit card. Annual Passholders and Members receive a discount that must be purchased onsite.
Do you Accept Credit Cards?
Yes, we accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.
Do you Accept Cash Payments?
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be accepting cash payments for Drive-Thru Zoo tickets or snacks. We do accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) as well as mobile payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Are Face Masks Required?
Face masks are required if you exit your vehicle to use restrooms in the designated spots inside the zoo.
Do you Drive-Thru in your own car? Can we rent a shuttle or golf -cart?
Guests must travel through the San Antonio Zoo in the comfort of their own vehicle. We do not have rental cars or shuttles.
How long does the Drive-Thru Zoo Take?
The experience will last between 30 min to 1 hour.
Since I am in my vehicle, will I be allowed to smoke?
Smoking of any kind is not allowed on zoo grounds. We reserve the right to escort guests off of zoo grounds if they are found to be disregarding our policies.
Will I be allowed to bring alcohol?
Alcohol is not allowed on zoo grounds. We reserve the right to escort guests off of zoo grounds if they are found to be disregarding our policies.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not permitted on the San Antonio Zoo premises.
Will I be able to get off to go to the restroom?
Yes. Due to traffic and social distancing guidelines, guests will be able to go to the restrooms at two designated spots inside of the zoo as well as at Brackenridge park once they exit zoo grounds. Face masks are to be worn when you exit your vehicle to use the restrooms.
Can we drive through in a convertible with the top down?
Yes, you may. For your safety while on zoo grounds, doors MUST BE IN PLACE and closed at all times. All persons must be seated in the vehicle if the top is down.
Can we ride in the bed of a pickup truck?
Yes. As long as guests remain seated at all times in the bed of the truck. It is important for guests to have doors closed at ALL times.
Once we exit the zoo, can we come back the same day?
Guests may not return after exiting the zoo on the same day without paying admission again. Tickets expire once guests exit the zoo. Tickets can be purchased at sazoo.org
Are there discounts available?
Annual Passholders & Members are eligible to receive a discount. The discount is offered when paid on site.
Will we be able to pet any of the animals?
No petting of any animals will take place.
We came when the weather wasn’t ideal and didn’t see any animals, can we get our money back?
We do not offer any refunds but do suggest that you take your time and keep looking under the trees and into the exhibits as you drive. Especially if it is hot, the animals may be seeking shade and shelter. If the weather is to the point we can not operate or provides a less than the experience we will reschedule your tickets for a different date.
Will we be able to feed the animals?
Guests are not permitted to feed any of the animals. We reserve the right to escort guests off of zoo grounds if they are found to be disregarding our policies.
