Do I need to have my photograph taken for my membership?
Your security is crucial to us. To better protect your account, we do require your photo or your child’s to associate with the digital membership card. Since the membership is non-transferable, this acts as an extra security measure should to prevent misuse.
Does my annual Membership start from the moment of purchase or the first time I scan into the zoo?
Your annual Membership starts from the moment of purchase.
I see that your Advocate Monthly Membership includes the popcorn bucket and unlimited carousel rides, Can I upgrade my annual Membership to a monthly Membership?
Once you purchase an annual Membership it cannot be exchanged or refunded for a monthly membership.
Once I download my Digital Annual Membership, where do I pick up my Annual Membership benefits?
Once you have downloaded your Annual Membership, upon visiting San Antonio Zoo, make your way to the Information Center at Outpost Amazonia and you can pick up your benefits that correspond with your Annual Membership.
Can I get a refund on my annual Membership?
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we do not issue refunds. Thank you for your support!
Can I transfer my annual Membership if I move?
Annual Membership and Membership benefits are non-transferable. This policy is intended to prevent any misuse of Annual Memberships.
I bought a gift Annual Membership, how does that work?
When you purchase a gift Annual Membership online you will enter the gift receiver’s information in the spaces provided. All Membership holders must be named in order for the Membership to be fulfilled in a timely manner. If Memberships holders are not named, names are misspelled, or areas are left blank, Membership fulfillment will be delayed. As soon as the gift Annual Pass is processed online or onsite it will be valid immediately and a digital Annual Membership will be emailed to the email address listed.
If I purchase a annual membership with the drink vessel and popcorn bucket, how many of those do I receive?
Drink vessels and popcorn buckets are subject to one per purchase order
How long until I receive my Annual Membership packet with my cards?
Annual Memberships are no longer mailed. A Digital Annual Membership will be emailed to you within 24-72 hours of purchase. If you purchased an Annual Membership while at the zoo and want to gain entry just to show your ID at the gate. All ID users will need to have their picture taken.
Do you still offer add-ons or additional un-named guests?
No; all Membership holders must be named, we no longer offer un-named guests on Annual Memberships. We no longer offer add-ons, if you would like to add someone to your Annual Memberships, you will add a new Annual Memberships to your pack. These new Annual Membership holders will receive all the benefits of an Annual Membership.
Am I required to get a digital Annual Membership?
The Digital Annual Membership is an additional option for Members. If you prefer not to have the Digital Annual Membership, all you need to do is show ID at the gate for entry. All ID users will need to have their picture taken.
If I have a current printed Annual Membership can I get the digital Annual Membership as well?
Yes, you still can download a digital Annual Membership as well.

Can I upgrade from a Supporter Annual Membership to an Advocate Annual Membership?
To upgrade your Supporter Annual Membership to an Advocate Annual Membership, you will need to stop by Outpost Amazonia within the first 60 days of your purchase.
Can I apply my admission fees toward the purchase of an Annual Membership?
Yes; the number of admission tickets purchased can be applied depending on the level of Annual Membership you wish to purchase. For example, four general admission tickets can be applied to a Zoo Annual Membership Four Pack. Your sales receipt is required and must be applied the day of your visit.
IS SAN ANTONIO ZOO A PART OF THE ASSOCIATION OF ZOOS AND AQUARIUMS (AZA) RECIPROCITY PROGRAM ?
San Antonio Zoo is a part of the AZA Reciprocal Program. To redeem this discount, guests must visit one of our ticket booths the day of their visit and are required to show proof of their zoo and/or aquarium membership. To view a list of participating zoos and aquariums please click here.
