The San Antonio Zoo is one of the finest outdoor learning environments in South Texas! A Zoo visit could be just what your class needs to spark interest in science and observational learning.  From characteristics of species, to adaptations for survival, to the wonders of nature, the San Antonio Zoo is the perfect classroom to introduce or reinforce your TEKS curriculum!

The San Antonio Zoo offers a special school group admission price for students, teachers, bus drivers, and adult chaperones of qualifying groups. To receive this rate, please notify the cashier that you are visiting with a school group, and which school you are with.

Groups qualifying for school admission rates include public, private, religious and home school groups, daycares, pre-schools, and after-school programs, YMCA, Head Start, colleges, and PCI.

Zoo Visits

The Zoo is a great classroom for all school ages and subjects! Bring students for a self-guided tour and enjoy docent presentations at various locations throughout the Zoo, Tuesday through Friday. Keeper Connection times are located on our map, and students will be able to watch the keepers train or feed the animals. For the most enjoyable trip, schedule visits Monday through Wednesday when the Zoo is less crowded.
*Group rates apply to educational groups who register in advance on our website.*
