Zoo Camp

2018 Zoo Camp registration is currently full for summer camps. Your child will have a wild summer to remember at Zoo Camp. Your future conservationist will spend their days exploring the zoo as they get up-close to animals, speak to animal experts, and learn to how to protect animals and the places they live.

Choose from a variety of programs that appeal to your child’s passion for wildlife and love of animals. All camp themes include jamborees, up-close animal encounters, zoo tours, activities, games, and art projects all set in a nature-based play environment.

Camps are grouped based on the grade level the student will be entering in the upcoming school year after their summer.

Entering K-6th Grades

Creature Features

How do anteaters eat, what do geckos do with an extra eye lid, or why do kookaburras laugh? Campers will discover the answers to these questions, and many more, using taste, sight, sound, smell, and touch to explore the world around them in a whole new way!

Making Mansions Out of Mole Hills

Whether they are deep underground, high in a tree, or hidden under a rock, animals always find the perfect place to call home. Campers will learn where animals live, what they can do to protect the wild places they live, and even design their own habitat.

Dino Camp

Campers will journey through the Jurassic in search for clues about dinosaurs and their zoo counterparts. Whether it’s T-rex or Triceratops, they’ll explore how science helps us uncover their mystery and how we can protect animals and the places they live.

Calling all conservationists! Is your camper looking for a summer adventure with a purpose? They’ll explore the zoo, talk to experts and learn how they can help protect animals and the places they live.

Jr. Zoo Crew

$365 per child, per week

Campers will join the Animal Care department for a portion of their morning routine to get a first-hand look at cleaning, diets, and enrichment. There is so much more to the zoo than just animals, so they’ll also explore the roles of horticulturists, veterinarians, educators, and so many more!

After Camp Care

3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

$65 per child, per week

Extended care is available for campers in all grade levels, Kinder – 9th. Campers will be provided with an afternoon snack and free choice activities.

Before Camp Care*

7:30 a.m.
Monday - Friday
$40 per child, per week

Drop off your camper as early as 7:30 a.m. for free choice Nature Play activities before Zoo Camp begins for the day!

Cancellations, Switching and Late Pick-Ups

Cancellations and reservation switches can be made by emailing or by calling 210.734.7184, ext 1501.

Camp Session Switching Fees:

  • If you must reschedule your camp session, please be aware there will be a $25 rescheduling fee.

Cancelation Fees:

  • More than 4 weeks notice: $50 cancelation fee
  • 2-4 weeks notice: $150 cancelation fee
  • Less than 2 weeks notice: no refund for cancelation All fees are per child, per change or cancelation.

Late Pick-Up Fees:

  • Camp (if not enrolled in Extended Care): $15 per 10 minutes after 3:15pm.
  • Extended Care: $15 per 10 minutes after 6:00pm.
