Mother's Day Breakfast at the Zoo

Join us to celebrate Moms of all kinds - furry ones, feathered ones, and especially, fun and friendly ones - like yours!  We'll go on a private adventure to meet a keeper and hear all about the new moms at the San Antonio Zoo.  We'll enjoy a yummy breakfast at our Riverview Cafe before making some breakfast enrichment for a special Zoo resident.  Spend the rest of the day exploring the Zoo with your family.  It's sure to be a day your mom won't soon forget!

Father's Day Breakfast at the Zoo

 From Mel the gibbon to Lurch the Andean condor, there are lots of great dads at the Zoo! Bring Dad and the family for a tasty breakfast at our Riverview Cafe, then join a keeper on a private adventure to meet some of our great animal dads!  Spend the rest of the day exploring the Zoo with your family!

Tiny Tot Family Campouts

5:30 pm - 8:30 am
Cost per person: $45/member adult; $22/member child
                                $55/nonmember adult; $27/nonmember child
Don't hesitate, this popular program fills quickly! Bring the family to a great campout experience inside the Zoo.  Complete with roasting hot dogs on an open fire, sleeping outside in a tent, animal encounters, and an evening Zoo tour.
 

Family Twilight Tour

Ages 6 and up
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Cost per person: $20/member adult, $10 /member child; $25/nonmember adult, $15/nonmember child

Come see where the wild things are in the quiet of the evening. Zoo staff will take you on an after-hours tour to see how resident animals “let down their hair” after the crowds depart. We’ll even get to meet a critter up close!

Keeper Shadow

Ages 12 and up
9:30 am - 11:30 am
Cost per person: $225 per participant

Join us to work one-on-one with a professional animal keeper and find out what it really takes to do the job. You’ll provide routine cleaning and maintenance of the animal habitats, prepare and feed diets, monitor health and well-being of the animals and fill out daily reports.  Areas include Mammals, Birds, Reptiles/Aquarium.  Most requests can be accomodated with at least 30 days notice by calling 734-7184 ext 1501.

Senior Safari

Adults only
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
*Dates and times available upon request.
Cost per person: $15; $25 if motorized wheelchair is needed
Join a special program designed for those young at heart! Seniors are invited to join us for refreshments and a presentation on the “Role of Zoos Today” to learn how zoos have changed in mission and appearance.  We’ll also enjoy an animal encounter and a brief Zoo tour.  Please note: there are a limited number of motorized wheelchairs available.
