Family Citizen Science Group
Is your familyl interested in conservation? Does your family like to play in nature? Come to the Zoo to play in nature while discovering some conservation methods! The Family Citizen Science group will learn about conservation programs that help specific animals and also learn some conservation methods that you can use in your own backyard.

March 29 -Okapi, Antelope, and Deer: Find out what all the pieces are for a stable habitat.
April 26 -Butterfly: Help make a safe passage for butterflies.
May 31 - Bird: Discover why bird watching is so important for the environment.
June 28 - Cats, Big and Small: Learn about observation methods that biologists us.
July 26 - Frog: find our how to use your ears for conservation.
August 30- Dogs, Wild and Otherwise: Discover ways to look for wild animals in your backyard.

Evening Adventure Tour
$20/Member adult; $15/Member child
Are you ready for an adventure? Join us after the Zoo closes for a special flashlight tour with Zoo experts. You'll even get to meet an animal ambassador!

April 18 - 5:30 p.m. to April 19 - 8:30 a.m. - Helton Nature Park in partnership with San Antonio River Authority
Funding for the San Antonio Family Nature Club was awarded through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund as part of the Nature Play Begins at Your Zoo & Aquarium collaboration with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The San Antonio Zoo is proud to be a recipient of this grant for family nature play.

Ages 12 and up
Join us to work one-on-one with a professional animal keeper and find out what it really takes to do the job. You’ll provide routine cleaning and maintenance of the animal habitats, prepare and feed diets, monitor health and well-being of the animals and fill out daily reports. Areas include Mammals, Birds and Reptiles/Aquarium. Most requests can be accomodated with at least 30 days notice by calling (210) 734-7184 ext. 1501.
